Sebas Kan Crowned Dutch Snooker Champion

April 7, 2025 – Zaandam, Netherlands

Sebas Kan claimed his first Dutch National Snooker Championship title on Sunday, April 6, in front of a home crowd at his local club, Westend in Zaandam. In an exciting final, Kan defeated 2019 champion Joris Maas from Biezenmortel 6–3.

Both players advanced smoothly from a 137-player field to reach the final of the 37th edition of the Dutch Nationals. After an early exchange of frames (1–1), Kan pulled ahead 3–1 at the interval with solid frame wins. Maas responded strongly after the break, leveling the match at 3–3 with impressive break-building, including a 91-point effort that narrowly missed a century.

Kan regained control in the seventh frame after a critical foul by Maas and followed up with a decisive 53 break in the eighth. In a tense ninth frame, Maas made a costly error, allowing Kan to clear from yellow to pink and secure a 6–3 victory—his biggest individual career achievement to date.

Kan, a multiple-time national Six Reds and Doubles champion, also previously won the Dutch Eredivisie team title with Westend!.
